Scottish Wedding Directory featured images, July 2012

Hello All!

What a fantastic week I've had.  I've been up on the Isle of Tiree for what started out as a little holiday with my mum and daughter, however I was fortunate enough to receive quite a few bookings whilst up on the Island, and during my 10 day stay and had a fabulous time running in the sand, splashing in the sea and  dancing in buttercup fields on my 5 family sessions :) I was even fortunate enough to photograph lovely wedding of Julie and Coinneach! The weather wasn't quite what I'm used to when visiting Tiree and the blue skies and blazing sunshine didn't make much of an appearance during our stay, and certainly not for Julie and Coinneach's very very wet wedding day! Despite the weather I had a fantastic time, it's such a beautiful place with very lovely people and I can't wait to show you all the images!!!

So... as I dashed out of the car through the rain and dragged my suitcase through my front door, I was welcomed by the newest edition of the Scottish Wedding Directory - hurrah!  I was fortunate enough to have a few of my images featured in this month's issue and here are a few snaps to prove it ;)

Zoe :) x

Carolyn and Gillon, Dalhousie Castle Wedding

Today I am delighted to share with you, Carolyn and Gillon's beautiful wedding at Dalhousie Castle, near Edinburgh.

I first met Carolyn and Gillon back in April 2010, when I photographed a family wedding with the lovely Frank and Gwen.  I was thrilled to see so many familiar faces at this wedding and join them again for another great day.

I was honoured to be joined by the wonderful Zöe of Photos by Zoe (yes 2 Zoes!!!!).  Zöe is a wonderful photographer, constant source of inspiration and my lovely friend, she came along to return a favour and boy did she deliver! thanks Zo!! {here is Zöe's blog post}

So, all about the day......

We started out at Carolyn's mum's home with the made-up team, Sharon and Monica working their magic.  The girls looked stunning, and all positively glowing with excitement, possibly helped along by a few pink bubbles ;)

Next up the boys! Zöe zoomed ahead to Dalhousie Castle and got some lovely shots of the lads and guests arriving for the ceremony.  Gillon had some entourage! I followed closely behind in time to see the gorgeous Carolyn arrive.

The humanist ceremony was lovely, and featured a rather beautiful reading,  read by Carron, Gillon's sister - there wasn't a dry eye in the house.  The ceremony also featured an amazing performance from children at the School Carolyn and Gillon both teach at, the choir sung during the signing of the register and everyone melted, including me!

The weather, although amazing for February was a tad windy! despite this we were extremely fortunate to be able to venture outside and I would like to thank each and every guest for their wonderful patience standing in the rather chilly wind to get those lovely sunny shots - thank you!

The wedding continued with some rather wonderful and moving speeches throughout the meal and after the cutting of the fabulous chocolate wedding cake (I can't tell you how amazing it smelt!) it was on to the dancing and music provided by the shoe tapping Callandish, right up my street!

We finished up the night with a few shots outside in front of the castle, Carolyn and Gillon were ace and looked warm and cozy and loved up despite the howling gale!

Thank you very much to Carolyn, Gillon and their families for being so fabulous and welcoming.  Wishing the newly weds all the love and happiness in the world for your marriage and future goldfish ;)

Enjoy x
